Introducing the new 2023 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pike’s Peak… When sportiness

Introducing the new 2023 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pike's Peak…

When sportiness is more important to you than anything else.

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak was developed to bring the sporty qualities of the Multistrada V4 S to the extreme: a dedicated riding position, 17″ wheels with sports tyres, single-sided swingarm, Öhlins suspension and the new Race Riding Mode.

A bike that is sharp, precise and effective even on the track.

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is not only the sportiest Multistrada ever, it is also the most powerful model in the entire crossover segment.Exciting and adrenalin-fuelled, it is powered by the V4 Granturismo engine, capable of delivering 170 hp at 10,500 rpm and guaranteeing high performance in sporty riding thanks to new electronic management strategies.

Riding precision is turned into pure performance

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is a technologically advanced motorcycle, designed for those who love the thrill of sporty riding, especially on mountainous twisties or between the kerbs of a race track.

Sharp and precise, it surprises with its ease of closing the line right from corner entry, maintained even when the throttle is applied: the bike literally goes where the rider's eyes turn.

Hop on and get a taste of the track experience.

RACING STYLEThe 17" front wheel makes the riding responsive and sharp. Rims are forged aluminum and results in a weight reduction that enhances the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle.

CHASSISThe V4 Pikes Peak is the first Multistrada in history to be equipped with Öhlins electronic suspension tuned to the rider's riding style

ERGONOMICSA dedicated riding position has been designed for the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak to ensure a sporty and effective riding position

ENGINEThe V4 Pikes Peak features the V4 Granturismo with updates to the electronic management system focused on improved performance on the road and track

ELECTRONICSFor the first time a Multistrada features a Race riding mode. Other electronic sport-oriented updates are related to wheelie control, quickshifter and ABS calibration.

DESIGNNew "Pikes Peak" livery is inspired by the colors and graphics of the Desmosedici GP ’21. To emphasise its sporty-oriented attitude it comes with a wide range of components made of carbon fiber and a low dark-smoked windshield

Sharp, fast, effective. And as powerful as ever.Sharp and responsive. Precise and adrenalin-fuelled.In the new Multistrada Pikes Peak the alchemy between chassis, ergonomic, electronic solutions and high level componentry gives the rider the maximum expression of the racing character of the 170 HP V4 Granturismo.

170 HP V4 Granturismo engine with racing electronics strategy.Lighter, more powerful and more reliable than the previous generation of twin-cylinder engines. With a displacement of 1158 cc, the V4 Granturismo engine ensures top-of-the-segment power and torque levels. The engine delivers 170 hp with a maximum torque of 92.2 lb-ft at 8,750 rpm. The sporty attitude is enhanced by a racing strategy for the rev limiter and the quickshifter that allows faster gear shiftings and extremely aggressive downshifts, as well as the implementation of an even more direct throttle response in High Power Mode.

17″ front wheel with forged rims and dedicated ergonomics. The 17″ front wheel combined with the adoption of lightened Marchesini aluminum forged rims results in absolute precision between curves and a high speed when reaching the apex. A revised strategy also in the main dimensions and ergonomic elements such as the footpegs and handlebar, to give the rider a more sporty feeling and is dedicated to dynamic riding on asphalt.

Single-sided swingarm and "Pikes Peak" liveryThe stylistic elements typical of the Pikes Peak version such as the 17″ front wheel and the single-sided swingarm are enhanced by the functional elements of the new Multistrada generation. A look that reaches the pinnacle of sportiness thanks to the new livery with number plates on both sides inspired by the graphics of the Desmosedici GP ‘21. The passenger seat is two-tone with the "V4" logo visible from above.

Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspensionThe V4 Pikes Peak is the first Multistrada ever to be equipped with electronic Smart EC 2.0 Öhlins suspension. The Smart EC 2.0 system is the same adopted by both Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S. It is a particularly advanced system that allows an "event based" adjustment, according to the rider's riding style. This technology borrowed from Ducati supersport bikes is combined for the first time with Riding Mode Race, which acts on the electronic controls to express the bike's racing potential to the full.

170 hp of pure adrenaline. V4 Granturismo

Extremely light, weighing just 147 lb (2.6 lb less than the twin-cylinder Pikes Peak 1260), it is also remarkably compact. With a displacement of 1.158 cc, the V4 Granturismo engine ensures segment-leading power and torque levels and absolute reliability, with valve clearance control programmed to a record 37,000 miles.

17" Marchesini forged aluminum rimsThe wheels rims are made of forged aluminum, allowing considerable weight savings on unsprung masses and ensuring a considerable speed of execution and an improvement in the bike's dynamic behaviour. The V4 Pikes Peak forged rim weight reduction versus Multistrada V4/V4S cast rims is 5.9 lb, that contribute to the total vehicle lightening of around 8.8 lb.

Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV TiresThe new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Tires (120/70-17 front 190/55-17 rear) support the sportiness of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and confirms its pure-performance-oriented character.

Chassis dimensionsThe rake of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is 25.75° (+ 1.25° vs Multistrada V4). Trail is now 4.7 inches (+0.019 inches vs Multistrada V4) and wheelbase geometry is 0.0627 inces (+0.0011 inches vs Multistrada V4). These new figures give the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak the riding characteristics typical of sporty bikes, without compromising comfort in every situation.

Class-leading braking systemThe braking system of the new V4 Pikes Peak is at the top of the segment and derives directly from that of the Panigale V4. At the front, the system includes 13 inch diameter discs and Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, like the Multistrada V4 S, to which are added the pads of the Panigale V4. At the rear, the system features a single 10.4 inch diameter disc with a Brembo floating caliper.

Performance-oriented ElectronicsThe new electronics are inspired from supersport riding. These include the adoption of Riding Mode Race capable of acting on the main electronic systems to deliver maximum performance. These are easily controlled via backlit handlebar controls with joystick and the 6.5-inch TFT dashboard with optical bonding technology for optimum viewing both day and night.

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak also inherits the advanced and sophisticated electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S, which includes, among others, radar technology at both front and rear, enabling Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Race Riding Mode

The Multistrada Pikes Peak in race riding mode offers the maximum engine and chassis performance, allowing riders to fully enjoy the 170 HP of the V4 Granturismo engine and the excellence of the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension. The system exploits an even more direct throttle response in High Power Mode. Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control operations are reduced to a minimum and the cornering ABS is set to level 2, also allowing controlled lifting of the rear wheel and therefore getting the most out of the braking phase, even on the racetrack. The Race Riding Mode is undoubtedly the ideal choice for experienced riders who wish to exploit all the exclusive performance the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak can offer, also on track.

Sport Riding Mode

The best on road performing Sport Riding Mode provides a thrilling 170 HP together with a sporty suspension set-up. Sport Mode is also characterised by low levels of Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control compared to the Race RM. Furthermore, the ABS is set to level 2, allowing the ABS is set to level 2 allowing controlled lifting of the rear wheel in order to maximize braking performance.

Touring Riding Mode

The best on road performing Sport Riding Mode provides a thrilling 170 HP together with a sporty suspension set-up. Sport Mode is also characterised by low levels of Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control compared to the Race RM. Furthermore, the ABS is set to level 2, allowing the ABS is set to level 2 allowing controlled lifting of the rear wheel in order to maximize braking performance.

Urban Riding Mode

In Urban Riding Mode power output is reduced to a maximum of 115 HP, and suspension is set for optimum agility in case of frequent urban obstacles with corresponding DSS mapping. DTC and DWC are set to high levels for maximum security. ABS is set to level 3.

Cornering ABSThe Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak exploits the Bosch 10.3ME Cornering ABS with corners function, properly calibrated to enhance the sporty features of the bike.

Adjustable on 3 levels each of which is combined as standard with the different Riding Modes, and is a significant element of the Ducati Safety Pack. Thanks to its ABS control processor, the Multistrada Pikes Peak makes use of a combined braking system (Electronic Combined Braking System) that is optimised at level 3 for the Urban and Touring RM.

In Sport and Race modes the ABS is set to level 2. The rider can still further raise the level of sportiness by activating level 1 from the menu, in this case the ABS function (non cornering) is active only on the front axle, and deactivated on the rear wheel, allowing the rear to drift under braking in sportier driving. The V4 Pikes Peak ABS level 1 is mainly oriented to road or racetrack performance while Multistrada V4/V4S ABS level 1 is for off-road application.

Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)Ducati Wheelie Control has been developed and set to the sporty characteristics of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, to be even more accurate during impulsive maneuvers common in sporty riding. This system, integrated smoothly with the Ducati Riding Modes, offers 8 setting levels. It analyses the attitude of the bike; it detects any front wheel lift and controls torque and power to maximize acceleration in safety.

Ducati Traction Control (DTC)A key element of the Ducati Safety Pack, DTC equipping the new Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is a system constantly updated and now integrates data coming from the IMU platform, to efficiently keep under control grip losses and the lean angle. In just a few thousandths of a second with data coming from the sensors, DTC can detect and control rear wheelspin, boosting performance and active safety significantly. The system allows the user to choose between eight different levels. Each one has been programmed to provide a rear wheelspin tolerance that matches progressive levels of riding ability (classified from 1 to 8).

Vehicle Hold ControlThe latest generation Vehicle Hold Control (VHC) system provides riders with easier restarts, even in critical situations like on a gradient; this is because it modulates brake pressure during starts, leaving the user free to focus on throttle and clutch control.

Adaptive Cruise ControlFront radar, perfectly integrated into the Multistrada Pikes Peak, controls the operation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which by means of controlled braking and acceleration automatically adjusts the distance (selectable on four levels) from other vehicles when riding at a speed between 18.5 and 99 mph. This car-derived system has been evolved and developed according to the dynamics and ergonomics of a two-wheeled vehicle. In particular, the authority of the system in terms of deceleration and acceleration has been limited to ensure the rider can maintain constant control of the vehicle in any situation. The ACC can be inserted and adjusted using the dedicated buttons located on the left block. Thanks to the DQS Up & Down, the rider can shift up or down without the ACC deactivating during the acceleration and deceleration phases. ACC system allows for more comfortable riding, especially on long motorway journeys.

Blind Spot DetectionRear radar technology, housed under the headlight, can detect and report vehicles approaching in the so-called blind spot, namely the area not visible either directly by the rider or through the rear-view mirror. The BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system monitors this situation thanks to the LEDs positioned on the rear-view mirrors. The BSD system also signals the approaching from behind of vehicles at high speed. In both cases, if the user activates the direction indicator expressing the intention to change lane, the BSD flashes the LED signalling a potentially dangerous condition. Thanks to the dedicated menu, the user can adjust the brightness of the system on three different levels.

Hands Free ignitionThe Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak uses a Hands-Free starting system that guarantees the best safety standards. Thanks to this system the rider can easily keep the key in his pocket and start the engine with the dedicated button positioned immediately behind the steering plate.

Headlight and indicatorsThe Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is equipped as standard with full LED lights and a front headlight with DRL and Cornering Lights. The rear light integrates the Ducati Brake Light function, which in the event of sudden braking automatically activates the flashing of the light in order to appropriately signal the condition of sudden slowdown. The direction indicators, also LED, turn off automatically after use thanks to the auto shut-off system.
