Counter-Strike 2 is currently in a limited beta stage and many players wish to get a chance to play it. Thus, making fans desperate to find ways to try the new and improved shooter title.
However, that desperation is also becoming a nightmare for some as their Steam accounts get hacked. So, how are hackers doing this, and how can you avoid losing your Steam account to some random stranger on the internet?
With the upcoming hype of Counter-Strike 2 many scammers are passing fake news about beta access. To do this, these scammers are using fake YouTube channels and other mediums to spread misinformation.
The scam is simple, scammers are building fake phishing Steam websites to steal login credentials. Phishing is a hacking technique that uses duplicate websites to steal information.
Keep in mind there is no way you can get access to Counter-Strike 2 beta through registration. However, if something is released make sure you check Valve's official blog.
Valve has also declared more people will be selected for Counter-Strike 2 beta slowly in the future. So, most of the CSGO community will get to try out the game in time to come.
If you do not get any chance to try out CS2 during the beta phase, just keep patience. You’ll be able to play the upcoming shooter title on release in Summer 2023.
The game will be based on the new Source 2 engine and will feature improvements asked by the community for a long time. Some of these futures are, reworked smoke grenades and 128-tick servers.
Additionally, all your CSGO progress will be carried over to Counter-Strike 2. So there is no fear of losing anything you’ve earned during the reign of Valve's current shooter title.
