This is the Most Misspelled Word in IL, IN, and KY

We all have those words that we still struggle to spell, and according to new

We all have those words that we still struggle to spell, and according to new data these are the hardest words for folks in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky to spell correctly.

Back in elementary school, we had spelling tests every week. I can remember having to write each word down ten to twenty times a piece so that I could learn how to spell it correctly for the tests. These tests ended after elementary school, but I think that we should have had spelling tests all the way through high school because there are still some words that we have trouble spelling.

Granted, nowadays we have spell check and auto-correct on our phones to tell us that we have misspelled a word. We rely on these tools way too much and all of us can acknowledge that we have some words that we either speak into our phones when texting or we rely on our phones to auto-correct. For me, there are a few words that I struggle with, but the one that sticks out is "definitely." Everyone makes typos, and Google Trends came out with the most misspelled word in each state...some of which are downright embarrassing. Let's take a look at which words are the most misspelled in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

These results are based on the top 'How do you spell ___?' Google searches in each state in 2022. When it comes to Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, I am kind of shocked that of all words, these are the most misspelled because (with the exception of Illinois) they are pretty common words that we use all of the time. However, there is one common theme between them, all three of these words start with the letter "a." Without any further ado, here we go:

Anniversary is one that I can see why people misspell for a couple of reasons, people might want to spell it the way that it sounds either "anneversary" or "anniversery". I'll let this one slide, Illinois.

Awesome? Really, Indiana? It's literally two small words combined into one: "awe" and "some"...plus it is a word that we say and probably text multiple times a day!

I hate to do it to you, Kentucky, but you really did this to yourself. Again is one of the words that you learn to spell in elementary school...how in the world have you gone this far in life without knowing how to spell "again"?!

While that baffles me, it isn't nearly as shocking as some of the other states' most misspelled words. I mean folks in West Virginia don't even know how to spell their own state, according to Google Trends. You can take a look at what the other states' most misspelled words are in the graphic below:
